Brenda Collier

Brenda was born and raised in San Angelo and graduated from San Angelo Central. She took a year off after graduation to work to finance her education and become the first of her siblings to go to college. Shortly thereafter, she enrolled at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas and later received her Associates in Applied Science degree majoring in Office Education.

She gained full-time employment as an office manager with a local design firm. It was in this capacity where she was first introduced to QuickBooks. With the basic accounting knowledge she obtained while in college, she became proficient in QuickBooks while witnessing the firm’s growth from simply designing convenience stores to the design and construction management of various clients’ projects, including the former San Angelo Colts baseball stadium.

She then moved back to Midland, Texas where she worked in various office administration and/or bookkeeping capacities in industries such as oilfield construction and remediation, health care and clinic administration, and oilfield pipe and equipment coating. Realizing that she had way with numbers and a curiosity about our country’s laws, she obtained a position as a bookkeeper for a newly formed Midland accounting firm. While working there, she gained additional knowledge about payroll, payroll reporting, sales and mixed beverage taxes, as well as, some training in individual tax preparation.

She decided to, once again, move back home to San Angelo and look for bookkeeping opportunities. After years of working for other local accounting firms, she truly feels, after many prayers, that God called her to SBS in November 2019 when she accepted a bookkeeping position with the firm.

Brenda is the proud mama to her ‘taller than me’ son, Matthew. After many years of straying from her faith, she has come back full circle and attends St. Mary’s Catholic Church here in San Angelo. The willingness to help others has offered her many blessings by serving in the Beginning Experience, Cursillo, and ACTS ministries. Brenda and her son, Matthew, are both heavily involved in Scouting BSA, formerly Boy Scouts of America. Matthew currently holds the rank of Life Scout, and she eagerly looks forward to his advancement to Eagle. She enjoys watching Matthew perform with the Mighty Bobcat Band, watching high school and pro football, basketball and tennis. Her favorite food is Asian or Italian food, especially if she doesn’t have to cook it.
